Welcome to Tyagarah Estate. Tom Smith and family purchased the Wombat Hill Vineyard in 1980 and, in 1990, founded Tyagarah Estate Winery to produce world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reflecting the character and terroir of the Southern Highlands Region.

We welcome you to visit our winery and restaurant. Free tastings every day from 10am to 4 pm.

We produce fine cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that have won many awards throughout Australia. We believe that wine making begins in the vineyard and we devote many hours to ensure that our grapes are the very best. No irrigation is used on the property and we aim to minimize the use of chemicals.

Our 42-acre Wombat Hill Vineyard estate has long been recognized as a stellar vineyard in the region, and has superb qualities for growing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Once a source for some of the top Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers in the region, today, the estate is the exclusive source for our Tyagarah Estate wines, as well as the foundation of our unique terroir. Balance, both in the vineyard and winemaking, governs our philosophy.
